Can’t wait for Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli’s new film Kaze Tachinu(The**Wind is Rising), which opens in Japan on July 20th. The film is centered on the life of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed the famous Mitsubishi A6M Zero Japanese fighter plane during World War II.
Ghibli is releasing a second film this summer as well: Kaguya-hime no Monogatari (The Tale of Princess Kaguya), which will retell a classic Japanese folktale of a princess who discovers a baby inside a bamboo plant. This one is directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata.
